On the heights of Uzès, in a place called "La montagne", lost in a forest of holm oaks, hide enigmatic dry-stone huts: the capitelles. Long misunderstood, these vernacular constructions have many stories to tell...
Long misunderstood, these 18th and 19th century vernacular buildings have many stories to tell about the lives and labors of the little people, so often forgotten by history.
Along the "sentier des capitelles", you'll discover a typical example of Languedoc dry-stone construction, whose ancestral know-how is still very much alive, and was classified by UNESCO as part of the world's intangible cultural heritage in 2018!

Bring shoes suitable for walking.
