Phase 1 renovation site visit - La Capitelle

Presentation

Come and discover the art of dry-stone construction
2010 by France and by Unesco in 2018.
Please note: 60 m difference in altitude, partly on footpath.
Long misunderstood, these 18th and 19th century vernacular buildings have many stories to tell about the lives and labors of the little people, so often forgotten by history.

Along the "sentier des capitelles", you'll discover a typical example of Languedoc dry-stone construction, whose ancestral know-how is still very much alive, and was classified by UNESCO as part of the world's intangible cultural heritage in 2018!
